One of those decisions…

I have made a decision. My next computer will be a Mac. (Apple-lovers rejoice!).

’tis true, I am fed up with my PC and greatly attracted by the Operating System of the MacBook. Plus the lovely compatibility between Microsoft Word, Excel and Apple’s iWork… Hmm yes that was the final straw. Come tax return time I [...]

Reflection(s) on the Holy Spirit

God has been teaching me a lesson that I have been slowly learning. Often I, like so many others, am very quick to evaluate and conclude what struggle/joy/problem my feelings and life are evidencing. It tends to go a certain way, I struggle with overwhelming feelings, either positive or negative, regarding a noun (person, place or [...]

Two things to report!

#1 Today was the first day of The Daniel Academy!
A few highlights:
- Having 20 min left of Algebra 1 and having already finished the stuff I had planned for the day… that took some quick thinking!
- Waking up a student three times
- Transitions are crazy… both the students and the teachers change classrooms.
- My math posters [...]

Does Algebra 2 include Trigonometry?

Does anyone know? If so, I would love for some direction.
I just realized I think I am supposed to cover trigonometry with my Algebra 2 students. If so, then I need to change the entire structure of Algebra 2 for the year. This is trouble with a capital T.
My concern is partially driven by the [...]

I like running sound

I really like when the kick drum in a mix hits me in the chest/stomach. Now that’s a kick drum.
I really like when the reverb on a voice makes it sound half like you are in a stadium and half like you are in the throne room in heaven.
I really like when the team is [...]

Eye has not seen, Ear has not heard

I thought it was about time to post a bit of my poetry again. I don’t do it much; that is I don’t write it much and I rarely post it. Enjoy.

A dream, a fantastic vision passed before my eyes

Sound and IHOP

I do wonder…
Why is it that so many talented musicians and singers come to IHOP, people who train for years to be on a worship team, and yet there are so few talented sound techs. The majority of sound techs at IHOP have very little experience, not much of a musical ear, and are basically [...]

Meditations on John

I have been reading and re-reading John 14-17 for the last week or so. For my Gospel of John study, I decided to do a ‘manuscript’ study. Basically, I copied and pasted the bible (NASB) from Biblegateway onto a word document. I deleted all the verse breaks, titles and chapter breaks. Ending up with a [...]

Feeling lost…

Do you ever have that feeling that you are totally forgetting something or that somebody just spinned the world around really fast and you are not sure which way is up? Yep, I am feeling rather disoriented. Probably originating from the confusion of my body clock. I don’t know when to eat meals, I don’t [...]
