I like the word Autumn, it just flows off the tongue. It sounds sleek, somewhat cozy, a time for wearing sweaters and cooking chili as a brisk breeze awakens the senses. The term fall has none of those connotations.
In the past week I have noted the arrival of autumn. Seasons rarely arrive on the ’21st’ of the appropriate month. In NY winter always arrived far before December 21st. Although we rarely had a white christmas; very disapointing. I love autumn. I can’t wait to make my mom’s chili… I am savoring/saving that event for a time I can share it with my team. I am thrilled that Starbuck’s pumpkin spice syrup is now out – ooh a pumpkin spice Latte mmm mmm. And I am loving my bike rides to IHOP, with the crisp wind in my face, lovely smells, beautiful light. Yes, autumn is a good season. Until it begins to transition to winter (wet leaves, gray days ick). But right now it is delightful. That and the fact that my birthday is about a month away, makes for a very exciting time of year!
But enough on my rants about the weather… I am off to enjoy it!
